AILEEN (AJ) SEMIRA JOCSON
I'm AJ, and I'm passionate about all things design! With a strong background in UX/UI and product design, I've had the privilege of working in some exciting industries, including AR/XR entertainment, video games, consumer electronics, and digital products. My journey in design has allowed me to explore both physical and digital user experiences, all while honing my skills in user research and interaction design.
Currently, I'm proudly serving as a Senior Product Designer at Magnopus, where I've had the amazing opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects. My Magnopus journey began as an UX/UI Designer, where I was brought on board to work on "Expo Xplorer," an app designed for the Dubai Expo. This incredible application aimed to bridge the gap between on-site and off-site experiences, connecting people from all corners of the globe. In my role, I played a pivotal part in crafting memorable user experiences for the app, as well as the AR elements on-site.
My daily tasks involved creating user flows, designing low-fidelity to high-fidelity wireframes, producing various UI assets using Figma, and collaborating closely with talented engineering, product, and design teams. Our collective hard work paid off when "Expo Xplorer" received multiple awards, and I was honored with a promotion to the position of Senior Product Designer.
At present, I'm thrilled to be working on "Connected Spaces by Magnopus," an immersive cross-device platform that blurs the lines between the physical and digital worlds. This cutting-edge product even made its way onto TIME's list of "Best Inventions of 2022."
My journey doesn't stop there; I've had the privilege of working with some other fantastic teams. My experiences as a UX/UI Designer and Product Designer at Deck Nine Games, Sphero, and Viget Labs, LLC have all contributed to my growth in this dynamic field.
During my time at Deck Nine Games, I served as a UI/UX Designer, working closely with a diverse group of team members. We collaborated on creating various workflows, wireframes, mock-ups, and design documents, and I had the pleasure of implementing final designs using Unreal Engine to craft user-friendly and immersive experiences for games like "Life is Strange True Colors" and its DLC, "Wavelengths."
At Sphero, I initially joined as a UX Designer and transitioned into a Product Designer role. Here, I worked on a range of products, designing play experiences and user journeys, along with developing workflows and wireframes. I even led the design efforts for their "Star Wars Droids" line and companion app.
My time at Viget Labs, LLC was marked by my role as a UX Designer, where I collaborated with talented colleagues to design high-quality digital products and websites. I also facilitated user testing to ensure our designs met the highest standards.
I'm more than just a designer; I'm a passionate design professional who's always eager to learn, grow, and mentor others in this field.

And for those wondering about the name "Alien Samurai," it all started when a teacher mispronounced my name, "Aileen Semira," as "Alien Samurai." The name stuck, and I decided to embrace it. I founded Alien Samurai Designs, and the rest, as they say, is history. Plus, it makes for a pretty cool gamer tag, if you ask me!
